AMAZON DEVELOPING TOMB RAIDER FRANCHISE

Following the announcement last year that Crystal Dynamics are partnering with Amazon Games on the next main Tomb Raider game, it has just been revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that the streaming service is also developing a television series and a feature film.
The series has found its writer in Pheobe Waller-Bridge, the Emmy Award winning creator of “Fleabag” who most recently starred alongside Harrison Ford in the fifth Indiana Jones film “The Dial of Destiny”.
Amazon is partnering with dj2 Entertainment on the series and film which will both link to the next game. dj2 Entertainment is also producing the Netflix animated series starring Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft.
According to one of The Hollywood Reporter’s sources, it is one of Amazon’s “largest commitments” to date.
This is great news - I hope - I really hope when this iteration of Lara hits our screens she rocks.
