A reboot of the Tomb Raider film franchise to follow the survival action storyline of the Tomb Raider (2013) game, featuring a young, freshly gratuated Lara Croft, has been talked about for a long time now - ever since the game was in production.
In that time production companies changed hands, many writers gave it a shot.

Now a co-production by MGM and Warner Bros. (after purchasing the rights from GK Films), the film is set to be directed by Norweigan director Roar Uthaug (The Wave) and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet. It also finally saw it's star be cast in the form of Alicia Vikander.

Yesterday, the long awaited release date was announced and we can expect it in cinemas from 16th March 2018.
Mark your calendars!

  1. Hmmm . . . interesting. Okay the record of big screen adaptation (as opposed to fan-film) of video games has been, well, less than stellar. I did enjoy the Angelina Jolie movies, but while fun they weren't exactly great movies. But keep our fingers crossed and see what it's like.
